Ayawasqa is a social and cultural project ahead by Amancaya Rivera, a Bolivian artist who specializes in the promotion, conservation and valorization of cultural heritage. Inspired by the greatness of the Bolivian culture and the traditional know-how so clearly evident in Andes textiles, she created Ayawasqa.
Her objective is to suggest a new twist to the otherwise traditional uses of the ornaments from the Tinku dance and the festive costumes of Potosi. Ayawasqa proposes a new contemporary esthetic while still and always highlighting the origin of the textiles and the hard work of the artisans.
